Zach Erz, TE

Here’s why the offense hasn’t looked like itself lately. Zach Ertz hasn’t been granted the opportunity to do everything that he can. During week one, Ertz made his own mistakes, for sure. But during week two, Nick Foles missed multiple grand opportunities to get Ertz the ball to make a play in some crucial situations.

The return of Carson Wentz may excite the fan base, but nobody wants Wentz back as much as Ertz does. The Wentz-Ertz connection was lethal last season, and they can finally get back to making it work. So this week we should see the Eagles not only move the ball better on offense but score every opportunity that they have in the red zone.

Realistically, Ertz is the Eagles most talented pass-catching weapon while out on the field with Alshon Jeffery out of the picture. That’s no dissing to Nelson Agholor, but let’s just face the facts.

If Ertz can something going, then the rest of the offensive weapons become more open and more dangerous as well. Hopefully, Ertz and Wentz come back on Sunday looking like they haven’t missed a step over the nine-month absence of the quarterback. That connection can go a long way on the road to victory, that’s for sure.
