Carson Wentz, QB

We saved the most important for last this week. For the first time since last December, Carson Wentz is suiting up and taking the field. Let me just tell you from the jump, Eagles fans. There’s a genuine chance that Wentz comes out and looks rusty on Sunday. Block out the noise from the haters and just understand that this guy hasn’t played full-contact football in almost a year.

Despite being an MVP caliber talent, Wentz could get off to a slow start. Considering this is his third year though, he shouldn’t struggle that much. Head coach Doug Pederson mentioned that Jason Peters should be in at left tackle again this week, so hopefully, Wentz is fully protected.

The Colts defense is a more favorable matchup for a return for Wentz. This week should be a good stepping stone for him to get comfortable with his guys once again.

Although Matthews hasn’t been here in some time, it’s still good to know that the new guy in the passing game already has a great relationship with the quarterback. The expectations will be high for Wentz’ return, but patience can go a long way this week. No matter what happens though, the Eagles will be fine in the long run. Just know that.
