5. The Andy Reid factor

We know what you’re thinking. What does Andy Reid have to do with anything? The answer is simple. Sometimes, guys just need a change of scenery.

Once upon a time, it appeared that Reid’s voice had gotten stale in Philadelphia. He’s moved on. It was his understudy, Pederson, that would deliver the team’s first Super Bowl victory, but things have worked out just about as good as you can hope for them to work out for Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs.

It seems like we’re always saying the Eagles defense is among the best at this or at the top of the league at that, but numbers don’t always tell the tale.

This team is struggling on defense, and at times, they look clueless. There are no signs that things will improve, and to be honest, a change in scenery for Schwartz and another voice in the defense’s meetings may be the best thing that can happen for both sides.

Only time will tell if the Eagles agree.
