Carson Wentz, QB

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz couldn’t catch a break this week. He’s officially gotten the Donovan McNabb treatment in Philadelphia as everybody can’t believe that he practically ‘choked’ the game away with under a minute left in the fourth quarter while in the red zone. It was tough to watch, for sure. But it should’ve never got to that point in the first place.

Aside from a final couple of offensive drives in that game where Doug Pederson switched gears and went conservative, Wentz was playing lights out. He completed 81-percent of his passes, which is a season-high. Sure, his collapse at the end was painful to watch, but as a whole, last week was the definition of a team loss.

If Wentz shows up on Sunday playing the way that he did last week, the Eagles are going to be in great shape. Hopefully, Coach Pederson got the hint about playing conservative over these last couple of weeks. It doesn’t work for Wentz and the offense, and has really killed the Eagles momentum at times. For confidence purposes, the Eagles should want to smoke the Jags this weekend. It all starts with Wentz on offense, and finishing all four quarters.
