Corey Clement, RB

Two weeks ago, Corey Clement wasn’t a fan of the chit-chat about the Eagles trading for a running back before the deadline. Clement told Eagles general manager Howie Roseman that he doesn’t need to trade for one, and Roseman told Clement to prove it. So far, Clement has not won this battle for the Eagles.

Honestly, it’s not all of his fault. It’s clear that Pederson is not comfortable with running the ball, so the running backs are not getting their fair share of usage. Clement had only eight carries and two receptions last week for a total of 22 yards. He was pretty much absent for the Eagles offense, and something is quite off.

Maybe Clement’s skill set is limited and he peaked last year? Who knows. One thing is for sure though, the Eagles need to let Clement have a few more opportunities on Sunday. With the trade deadline approaching in less than a week, they really should test out Clement as a feature back and truly see if they need to give up draft picks for another back.

You never know, he could have another big week like the few that we saw last season. After all, this is the guy who scored a hat-trick at one point last season.

Eagles should inquire about DeVante Parker. dark. Next
