Eagles fans are going to love this one. Guess what former Dallas Cowboys quarterback had to say when he was asked about his former team?

Okay, when Troy Aikman says there’s a problem, there must truly be a problem. Recently the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback had a chance to weigh in in the team he won three Super Bowls with. Ladies and gentlemen, if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, this one will make you smile.

What’s strange is that there’s a very real prospect that, if you’re a Cowboys fan, traditionally one of the most difficult fan bases to rationalize with, this may be tough to take, even though it’s been said by the beloved Troy Aikman.

Here’s some of what he had to say when he spoke with KTCK-1310 ‘The Ticket’ in Dallas:

"Go through the list and this team, over a long period of time, has been what it’s been. It hasn’t always mattered who the head coach has been. So to me, if you’re asking me, I’d say there has to be a complete overhaul of the entire organization."

Ouch. That one stung, but it got a whole lot heavier. Take a look:

"I’ve heard Jerry say, ‘OK, look. We’re going to do it differently. I’m going to do it differently.’, but it’s the same. Nothing changes, and that to me is the bigger issue. … Yes, coaching is important, personnel. All those things are important, but how are you going about evaluating how you’re going about running the organization?"

By now, you’re either in tears or about to fall out of your chair, but ladies and gentlemen, we’re still not done. Watch Dallas’ three-time Super Bowl winner and Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee bring it all home with one final gut punch:

"Whatever that (an overhaul) looks like, and everyone has an opinion on what it does look like, but I’m not in the building. I have no idea. I talk to people. I talk to people who have been inside the building and have a pretty good understanding how things are run, and, in a lot of ways, there’s a lot of dysfunction, and that has to change if this team is going to be able to compete on a consistent basis like the teams that you look to around the league that seemingly are in the hunt each and every year."

Let’s be honest. What needs to be said after that? What could be said after that? Don’t expect the news of that one to go away without a few more conversations. We expect a response from Jerry Jones to come in the very immediate future.
