The Philadelphia Eagles lost a few players last week, but for Week 11 they will get a few guys back.

The injury bug has bitten the Philadelphia Eagles many times last season. Well, 2018 hasn’t been much different. You could almost make an entire starting lineup with the Eagles injury report, that’s how big the list is. Last season, it wasn’t that big of a deal, as the team was playing at their highest level. This season, the next-man-up mentality hasn’t been there at all.

Heading into Week 11, the analysts will tell you that the Eagles have no chance to win. They are heading into The Superdome to play the hottest team in the conference right now against the New Orleans Saints. Although the Saints season as a whole has been dominant, their last two weeks have been tremendous.

Two weeks ago they gave the Los Angeles Rams their first loss in convincing fashion. And last week, they utterly destroyed the Cincinnati Bengals. With the way the Eagles have been playing, many are predicting a similar outcome. Anything could happen, that’s for sure. But don’t count the Eagles out, because they could get three starters back into the game for Sunday.

Who has a chance to make their return?

Last week, Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson was getting as much work in at practice as he could. He had all intentions of playing, despite being issued a four-week recovery period. Johnson ended up being listed as inactive 90 minutes before kickoff, and the Eagles definitely missed him up front. Good news for this week though, as Doug Pederson stated that he expects Johnson to play this Sunday during his press conference on Friday.

Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones has been out since week six against the New York Giants. Jones went down with a hamstring injury, that has been a mystery for a while now. As hamstring injuries are becoming the norm to the Eagles roster this season, Jones is just another player that missed a significant amount of time because of it. Pederson won’t confirm that Jones will play, but he’s got a good chance as he practiced fully on Thursday, and Friday.

Finally, will the Eagles get the defensive tackle, Timmy Jernigan, back into the mix? Jernigan has missed the entire offseason and the first ten weeks due to a herniated disc that needed to be surgically repaired in the spring. Jernigan has been available at practice for the last two weeks, but the medical staff won’t give him the green light to go just yet. Pederson is optimistic that Jernigan will play on Sunday, but don’t count on it. He may need another week still.
