While perusing through the internet, ITI found a very interesting podcast and a very interesting take on former Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins from current Eagles safety Rodney McLeod.

This is one of those things that someone might fail to mention thanks to a holiday, some turkey, and a whole lot of leftovers, but it’s definitely worth a mention. The middle of the week allows some of us, Philadelphia Eagles fans included, a few moments to surf the web, and what happens is, sometimes, you find your way to some interesting stuff, an interview with Rodney McLeod where Brian Dawkins’ name comes up for instance.

Recently, the ITI staff was hanging out, and we came across a story, and that led us to an accompanying podcast. Give Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson and his ‘Scoop B Radio’ podcast credit for this one.

McLeod had a very interesting take on a man who’s probably the most beloved Eagle of all time. According to McLeod, ‘B Dawk’ could probably still play today and be effective. Here’s a quote:

"He still could line up today man and be in the box and make some plays for us. I mean you’ve seen clips of him, but the energy that he brings and his leadership qualities, those are the things that stand out to you. He’s a physical specimen."

Now, whether that’s factual or not is still up for debate, but it’s definitely a nice thing to say. It also makes the imagination wander.

With McLeod already out and with the likes of Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills and Sidney Jones all being absent (and with Rasul Douglas not being one-hundred percent), it would seem as though mixing ‘Weapon X’ into the gameplan would offset a lot of deficiencies on defense.

Next. Michael Bennett’s court date will again be postponed. dark

It would also help the young guys out if they were learning from one of the best safeties to ever do it. Yes, we know. It’ll never happen, not in a million years, but it sure is nice to dream, isn’t it?
