Getting hot in December: Forecasting Philadelphia Eagles’ last four games
By Alex DeMarzo
Will this one be for the postseason, or will it be a meaningless game?
In the season finale, Philadelphia heads to Landover to face off against the Redskins one last time. Once that happens, we should know if they Eagles’ playoff dreams are alive and well or if this game will be nothing more than a 60-minute battle to end the 2018 season for both teams.
There isn’t much to say here. The Redskins are playing with a third-string quarterback as Alex Smith got hurt in Week 11 and, just last week, his backup, Colt McCoy, went down as well.
Mark Sanchez was picked up shortly after it was ruled that Smith would be out for the remainder of the season. Eagles fans are all too familiar with Sanchez as he played two seasons in Philly from 2014 to 2015 mainly as a backup but started 10 games due to injuries.
Philadelphia should convincingly beat Washington by a score of 31-17.

Yes, you read all of that correctly, the Eagles will go 3-1 in December. That should set them up nicely for a playoff spot as the NFC East champions.
It won’t mean anything if the Eagles don’t go into Dallas and take care of business this week.
A loss won’t just dig the Eagles into deeper hole for the NFC East title. It also causes reasons for concern as the remaining schedule for Dallas is a much easier one than the Eagles have. After the Eagles come to town, the Cowboys are on the road to play Indy.
Then, they go back home to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they close out the season with the New York Giants on the road.
Buckle up ladies and gentleman because we are in store for an entertaining December.
