Carson Wentz’s jersey was a Top 10 seller in 2018

It might be Nick Foles’ time to shine once again, but Carson Wentz was still a popular sell in the jersey shops this season.

The city of Philadelphia still understands who the franchise quarterback of the future is. Well, at least most fans do. Recently, the NFL Shop has released the list of the top ten players, who’s jersey’s sold the most, and there was one Philadelphia Eagles player on the list. It’s not hard to guess that Carson Wentz sold the most jerseys in Philly. After all, he is the franchise quarterback.

Last year, Wentz’s jersey was a hot topic for fans as well. Once his 2017 campaign was off to a hot start, Wentz quickly became a fan favorite in the city. That wasn’t the only cool part of the jersey-selling game last season though. By the time the Eagles were off on their magical Super Bowl run, fans were beginning to not only buy Wentz jersey’s, but they were also buying Nick Foles jersey’s as well.

As time went by, Foles’ sales took a bit of a hit as he was sent back to the bench. Once Wentz got back onto the field, he quickly became the focal point of the team once again. Unfortunately, Wentz couldn’t finish the regular season off strong on the field, but he remained a top seller in the jersey market. He was the fourth quarterback on the list, who came in with the eighth-most jersey sales in 2018.

There aren’t many surprises here. Tom Brady at the age of 41 is still dominating in jersey sales. As he continues to hand in stellar seasons, the man seems ageless. For the most part, this list looks merely accurate. Surprisingly, Wentz surpassed Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback Dak Prescott in sales once again this season, so there’s that.

We’ll see where the direction of jersey sales go now that playoffs are in effect. Six of the top ten made it to the postseason, so a couple of guys on this list could be cut out for the start of 2019. And who knows? Maybe Nick Foles will creep his way into the top ten once again with another magical run with the Eagles. Considering that this could be his final stretch of games with the Birds, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Eagles fans rush to get his jersey these next few weeks.
