Robert Griffin, III

Remember when Robert Griffin aka RG3 was lighting up the NFC East during his rookie season? Interesting times. The Washington Redskins struck gold with Griffin for a season, but it really didn’t last long. After suffering a knee injury, and rushing himself back to the field the following year, Griffin damaged his career as a starter, and his reputation within the locker room.

This situation may sound a bit familiar to you. I know what you’re thinking. “Well, that’s the same thing that’s happening to Wentz!” You can think that, but the fact of the matter is that the Eagles have a good grasp on who Wentz is as a leader and a quarterback. These situations are not identical. Griffin was a one-man band in Washington, while Wentz is a team-first guy, despite what that single hit piece came out saying.

All personality comparisons aside though, Griffin’s game is very similar to Wentz’s in a way. Although Griffin may not be as mobile as he once was, he would probably benefit from a system like Doug Pederson’s. Quick passes, and heavy on the RPO’s. Griffin did a great job in Baltimore last season by mentoring Lamar Jackson, and getting along with Joe Flacco. So his locker room issues from Washington should no longer be a concern.
