The Cowboys are struggling to retain DeMarcus Lawrence

Since they dragged their feet on this, the Dallas Cowboys are struggling to get their veteran pass rusher DeMarcus Lawrence back for a long-term deal. The Cowboys admitted that they submitted an offer to Lawrence just last week, and apparently the Pro Bowler was not very thrilled with it. According to many sources, the Cowboys and Lawrence are on a different page.

A deal isn’t even close to being worked out. So with that, the Cowboys slapped the tag on Lawrence once again in order to buy themselves more time to work out something long-term.

Last season, Lawrence took the tag and played with it. This year, he’s sticking to his guns. After following up with another double-digit sack season, DeMarcus Lawrence has made it very clear that he will not sign a franchise tender, and he will hold out until he gets a new deal. Do we have another Le’Veon Bell situation on our hands with the Cowboys?
