Philadelphia Eagles should still take a running back in 2019 NFL Draft
Despite adding the talented Jordan Howard, the Philadelphia Eagles should still look to the 2019 NFL Draft to add a piece to their backfield.
The 2019 NFL Draft is approaching, and one of the things we learned from the 2018 regular season and playoffs was the fact that you can never have too many capable running backs at your disposal. The Philadelphia Eagles were supposed to be set with a ‘committee’ system that included Darren Sproles, Jay Ajayi, and Corey Clement.
That made collective mouths water. Then, they all got hurt. As a matter of fact, none of them finished the season. Thank goodness they found the undrafted Josh Adams. Still, after seeing that, everyone was reminded about the need for a good insurance policy.
Clement will be back this season, and hopefully, he’ll be totally healthy. You may not have heard, but Philly traded for Jordan Howard (which means Ajayi may be gone). Sproles’ future is uncertain, but despite the theory that everything’s good now, it would make sense to draft a ball carrier in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Miles Sanders is a name many ‘Birds’ fans are falling in love with, and the Eagles, themselves are giving him serious consideration. Take a look.

Sanders is a five-foot-eleven, 211-pound slasher that NFL.com compares to T.J. Yeldon. That was after this former Penn State standout stepped right in after the departure of Saquon Barkley (some pretty big shoes to fill).
Here’s more of what was said.
"Well-built glider with the instincts, footwork and agility to shake tacklers but the frame and pad level to finish with some authority. He can clearly create yardage for himself, but he has average acceleration and might need to expedite his downhill process as a pro. Sanders is more skilled than explosive, but he has the size and talent to develop into a future starter with every-down potential."
Oh, and since we’re talking durability, wear and tear shouldn’t be an issue as Sanders only has 276 career carries (backing up a future NFL star has it’s advantages). Jot this name down if you haven’t already. Mr. Sanders could be one to watch.
