Round 4, Pick 127

David Long, Jr., LB, West Virginia

Looking at the Eagles’ roster currently, their biggest need might be a linebacker. With Jordan Hicks out of the picture, the Eagles are on the hunt for a replacement. Ideally, they snag a player higher up with one of those first three picks. Realistically, they sit back and grab one later exactly how this mock draft was set up. The Eagles simply haven’t valued middle linebackers much in the past. Since Hicks’ absence actually had Nigel Bradham more involved and playing his best football, the Eagles typically feel comfortable with special teams-type of players, who are good in coverage.

L.J. Collier, DE, TCU

The Eagles have some solid depth at defensive end right now, but by the 2020 season is could look really thin. Chris Long may retire as early as this year, and Vinny Curry is on a one-year deal. That leaves them with Brandon Graham, Derek Barnett, and question marks. It’s a lock that the Eagles draft a defensive lineman in this draft. Talent-wise, L.J. Collier isn’t top-tier. But he is steadily praised for his effort and grit. The Eagles would appreciate a hard worker to develop.
