Randall Cunningham somewhat changed the game. Although he was an excellent passer for the Eagles, his mobility is what turned people onto his game. Michael Vick might’ve been the quarterback that made scrambling an exciting feature to other quarterbacks’ game, but Cunningham was knocking out 500-plus rushing yard seasons a decade before Vick was.

Although I wouldn’t agree, some would go as far as to saying Cunningham is the greatest quarterback in Eagles’ history. There’s a good reason for that. During his 11 seasons in Philly, Cunningham finished out with a total winning record of 63-43-1.

He threw for 150 touchdown passes to 105 interceptions. On the rushing side of things, he carried the ball 677 times, accounting for 4,482 yards and 32 rushing touchdowns. He was the true definition of a dual threat in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Like many Eagles’ quarterbacks, Cunningham wasn’t able to win at the highest level. But it is necessary to note that he led the Eagles to the playoffs on five different occasions. Although he struggled to take them past the first round for his first three postseason appearances, his game clearly still left a significant impact on the franchise.

There’s a reason old school No. 12 jerseys are still very popular around Philadelphia on Sundays. Sure, the Kelly Green look is a cool one in the eyes of many, but Cunningham was a true Philadelphia legend and many Eagles fans want to make sure they continue to rep his legacy.
