Jordan Mailata, OT

"Spadaro’s Take: “Mailata is in a different place now, with a full season of NFL football under his belt. The question is: Can Jordan Mailata play good football in a game right now? Training Camp is going to help answer that question. As much as we all want to see No. 1 draft pick Andre Dillard in his first camp, the curiosity factor with Mailata remains.”"

Jordan Mailata is first and foremost, a rugby star. However, the Eagles were intrigued with his size and athleticism, which raised a question: Is Jordan Mailata’s true calling in American football? It’s a tough question, and the Eagles are trying to figure out the real answer to it. Last year, Mailata played his first four games of football ever in the preseason, and he built quite the buzz.

While the Mailata hype died down by the time fall came around, we’re sure some more noise will surround his name once again as he will get some meaningful reps in the preseason. Since the Eagles selected a tackle in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Mailata will have a position change. But since he hasn’t played on the left side for more than a year, his transition should be a lot smoother than it typically would be for a player switching sides.
