Shareef Miller, DE, 4th Round Pick

Insider’s Take:

"“Shareef Miller is on the 3rd team at DE. Seems to be 6th or 7th among DEs right now.” – Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP"

If you’ve been wondering how Philadelphia native, and Penn State defensive end Shareef Miller has been doing, then you probably won’t be too surprised to know that there hasn’t been much buzz surrounding his progress. The Eagles have a few pass rushers who have stood out thus far, but Miller isn’t precisely one of them. Two young pass rushers in Joe Ostman and Josh Sweat have been putting on a show, while the others are just working at an average pace.

Considering that Miller is a fourth-round pick, you should understand he’s going to be a work in progress. Since the Eagles have a plethora of potentially productive pass-rushers already, Miller’s quiet offseason isn’t discouraging. Seeing what he does in the preseason will be interesting, but it’s unlikely Miller wins over regular-season snaps anyway unless he’s used in an emergency situation due to injuries occurring to the top of the depth chart. This will take time.
