3 Possible free agent signings

Mason Foster

Some of you are probably thinking ‘didn’t we just get Zach Brown from the Redskins? Do we need another of their former linebackers?’. Well, that’s a valid point, but of the available free agents on the current NFL market, Foster is the best one. This is about putting the best Eagles team possible on the field right?

In 107 career games with 92 starts, Foster’s racked up 661 total tackles (458 were solo), eight interceptions, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and 8.5 sacks. He could flourish in an Eagles jersey, playing in Jim Schwartz’s scheme.

Connor Barwin

Cue the Connor Barwin rumors again. This conversation’s been a topic all Summer, and with a now-thin linebacker corps, Barwin may be a very viable option.

Josh Bynes

It’s actually kind of interesting that no one’s snagged Josh Bynes yet. He has 332 total tackles (215 were solo). He’s experienced, having played in 89 career games with 40 starts. He’s also notched two interceptions, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries over the span of his NFL career.

He;s been a bit of a journeyman already, having played on three NFL teams in his eight-year pro career, but he could be an inexpensive signing if Philly chooses to go that route. We’ll all have to wait and see what happens.

Honorable mention: Asantay Brown

Philly signed him as an undrafted free agent after last year’s draft. He’s spent time on their practice squad and would be a quick fix for a team who ften brings back familiar faces when shuffling their roster.
