Are the Ravens the best team in the AFC North? What needs to happen for them to be seen as being the elite team in the AFC?

Schisler:

The Ravens are the best team in the AFC North if the offense can do its’ part. What the Ravens do well, they do at an elite level. The running game could rack up more yards than any team in the NFL.

The secondary is stacked with talent. If the Ravens get enough of a pass rush from their outside linebackers, they will have a top-ten defense in the league, so the Ravens have to get a plan for their pass rush figured out. That’s step one. Secondly, the Ravens need Jackson to be a star. The formula of running the ball, controlling the clock and playing good defense won’t work every single time. Jackson has to be a difference-maker as a passer.

If Jackson shines, the Ravens are going to win the division. The Browns aren’t proven. The Steelers have to be taken seriously, yet on paper, the Ravens are the better team. The Ravens need their defense to get to the quarterback and they need their quarterback to dominate the competition. If that happens, the AFC North is going to have a repeat champion.
