The 3rd worst: Mike McMahon

While Feeley saved the season in 2002, the same could not be said for Mike McMahon in 2005.  The following year following their defeat in Super Bowl XXXIX to the New England Patriots, the Eagles were favored to get back.

Unfortunately, the summer leading up to the 2005 season was the start of the infamous Terrell Owens contract saga, which caused a massive distraction culminating in Owens’ season-ending suspension.

The Eagles were also ransacked with injuries, including one to Donovan McNabb. With all of this being the case, McMahon didn’t stand much of a chance. Despite being wildly athletic, McMahon could only muster up a 2-5 record as a starter and a completion percentage of 45.4.

The Eagles would finish 6-10. They’d get swept by the rest of the NFC East, and that was the first time they missed the playoffs for the first time in the Andy Reid era since Big Red’s very first season as a coach in 1999.
