1. Davis Webb, quarterback
Of course, a quarterback is on the list (actually we have two). The first of which is Davis Webb. It was actually the Giants who took Webb 87th overall in Round 3 of 2017’s NFL Draft, but he was waived on September 2nd of 2018 after the team claimed six players off of waivers.
The Jets signed him to their practice squad two days later. He was promoted to the active roster on November 10th to serve as the backup to Josh McCown following a Sam Bradford injury, but Thursday will probably be his final game with the Jets. Does he have enough to sway their decision? We’ll see
2. Elijah McGuire, running back
When the Jets signed Bilal Powell, it appeared Elijah McGuire‘s days were numbered. When Powell and Trenton Cannon continued to outplay McGuire, it appeared the writing was on the wall, and when Cannon racked up 61 yards on five carries and 28 yards on three catches versus the New Orleans Saints, it appeared the Jets had seen all that they need to see.
McGuire will need a mega performance versus the Eagles to have any shot of making New York’s roster. Right now, it doesn’t appear to be a possibility.
