15. Wendell Smallwood, running back

We always seem to hear players referring to games against former teammates like they’re just another game. We hear it over and over, and we never believe it. Don’t get mad at Wendell Smallwood for telling the truth.

As mentioned in a previous story on ITI, Smallwood’s acknowledged that he could never house any hard feelings towards the team he won a Super Bowl with and the only NFL team he’s ever known, but he is hoping to ‘whoop up on them’ on Sunday.

There are no hard feelings towards Smallwood either. He’s a competitor. Of course, you want to beat the team that said they didn’t need you anymore. We’re just glad he didn’t say it’s just another game. We’ll see on Sunday how he performs for the Redskins.

Honorable mention: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, on Sunday, will suit up for the third team he’s played for in the NFC East. All that’s left is a stint with the Dallas Cowboys. If you’ll remember, Rodgers-Cromartie was a member of the ‘Dream Team’, where he was asked to play slot corner. That didn’t work.

He’s likely to perform the same duty against the Eagles in Week 1. How will he do if that’s, indeed, his role? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out.
