Tier 3 Candidates

Each player that received only one vote out of 35.

Darren Sproles, RB

It was unclear if Darren Sproles was going to continue playing football, or hang up his cleats and call it a career. Had the Eagles not given Sproles a call, he probably would’ve done the latter. But Philly couldn’t let go. As Sproles is unsatisfied with how his last two injury-filled seasons went, he’s hoping that the third time is a charm.

Avonte Maddox, CB

Avonte Maddox’s rookie season was unexpectedly impressive. He went from being an assumed red shirt nickel cornerback to gaining reps at safety, nickel cornerback, and outside cornerback. Injuries were rough last year, but the silver lining is that the Eagles were forced to play Maddox early and found out he’s truly a baller in the secondary.

Isaac Seumalo, LG

Isaac Seumalo pretty much got Stefen Wisniewski out of Philly. Or maybe it was really Jason Peters. Who knows. Regardless of what happened with Wiz, the Eagles are very confident in Seumalo. He earned himself an extension over the offseason, and now he’s got to prove his value.

Nigel Bradham, LB

Nigel Bradham missed a lot of time this offseason due to a shoulder injury. However, he’s an experienced veteran who does a fine job controlling the linebackers unit. He had some ups and downs last year, but so did the defense as a whole. This year, we will find out if Bradham and Zach Brown will be able to coexist. We strangely have a good feeling about the linebackers this year.
