4. Corey Clement out-carries Jordan Howard

Let me just say this really quick — Jordan Howard is a reliable running back and deserves a fair shot to get a good chunk of carries on Sunday’s. However, I’m not sure if the Eagles see it that way. Let’s not forget, they did try to trade this guy just last week.

That’s not to say Jordan Howard isn’t good, but the Eagles seem to play favorites when it comes to the backfield. Miles Sanders is their guy, as they spent a second-round pick on him in the spring. Sanders will likely lead the backfield in carries against Washington.

Jordan Howard will probably get the start but don’t be surprised to see him disappear more often than not. As we know, the running backs rotation in Philly can get quite frustrating. Howard could rip off a few nice runs early on, then we won’t see him until later on in the game. It’s confusing, but it happens every year.

The Eagles didn’t get much out of Corey Clement last year because he was asked to take on a bigger role. As we know, less is more with Clement. The Eagles really like this guy, so don’t be shocked if he’s taking on more carries than expected. It will be close, but Clement might realistically have more work than Howard this week.
