Philadelphia Eagles recently extended left guard Isaac Seumalo graded out as the worst offensive lineman in the NFL last week. Saying that he played a bad game would be putting it kindly. He was putrid in every aspect of the game, whether it was pass blocking or run blocking.

We’ve seen Seumalo play that bad before. The first game that comes to mind was the one against the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2017. And guess what? He was benched the following week. Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson made it clear he isn’t ready to do that yet, but that’s not saying much.

Right now, the Eagles don’t have a player that could really back up Seumalo in this situation. Stefen Wisniewski was a reliable option the last time around, but there aren’t any guards who can play a better game than Seumalo behind him right now. He needs to step it up this week before Carson Wentz has another rough day in the pocket.
