1. Carson Wentz is running for his life.

As mentioned, the faux pas of the skill positions has been highly publicized. What hasn’t been as mentioned as much is the fact that the offensive and defensive lines have not been holding up their ends of the bargain.

During the Eagles’ magical Super Bowl run in 2017, yes Nick Foles was spectacular, but it helped that he also had the best combo offensive and defensive lines in football. This season, most of the same members of that team are also key pieces of the current roster. Yes, Chris Long, Beau Allen, and Stefen Wisniewski are all gone. Yes, a lot of Philly’s decrease in production has to do with a combination of injury and age.

Jason Peters is almost a shell of himself at age 37, Brandon Brooks is still not one-hundred percent healed from his Achilles injury, Andre Dillard is banged up, and they have lost both Malik Jackson and Timmy Jernigan to the injury bug.

Still, when you see plays like this (plays that have since gone viral), it’s hard to make excuses.

There’s no excuse for that.
