Sunday Night Football: Pittsburgh Steelers (1-4) versus Los Angeles Chargers (2-3)

Venue and weather: Dignity Health Sports Park, Sunny, 67°F at kickoff

Prediction: Last week, Philip Rivers didn’t throw a single touchdown pass, but if you know anything about his history, you know that it’s been about four years since he went back-to-back weeks without throwing at least one TD.

The Los Angeles Chargers have done a good job of replacing him, so he should be able to settle in nicely, but as always, L.A. will be playing in front of a ‘home’ crowd that will be wearing more of the opposing team’s colors than their own.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will benefit from a glorified home game, but Anthony Lynn‘s coaching staff will do a little better job than Mike Tomlin’s. That will be the difference. There’s just one more question. Why can’t this Chargers team be moved back to San Diego, where they should be? Final Score: Steelers 20, Rams 27

Monday Night Football: Detroit Lions (2-1-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-1)

Venue and weather: Lambeau Field, Partly Cloudy, 44°F at kickoff

Prediction: When this season began, you probably looked at the NFL schedule and asked yourself why this was a primetime game. A little over a month later, this looks like it could be one of the week’s more entertaining games.

The Detroit Lions are better now than they used to be. That can’t be denied, but the Green Bay Packers have a future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback on the roster, and they have the potential to be very special on defense. They’re at home. They get the win here. Final Score: Lions 17, Pack 27
