player. 16. . . . Josh Allen.

One NFL legend that most closely resembles Allen: Jim Kelly

If any team is ever able to find a generational talent at quarterback, it would be wise to recognize it and develop him. They don’t come around that often. Heck, look how long it’s taken the Miami Dolphins to find a suitable replacement for Dan Marino.

For the Buffalo Bills, it’s been a long time since Jim Kelly ran the K-Gun, but they may be onto something with Josh Allen. His cannon arm kind of reminds you of when Kelly’s passes cut through the sometimes-horrific weather in Buffalo. Not too long ago, we learned again from what we saw with Sean McVay and Jared Goff that giving a young signal-caller an offensive-minded head coach can pay huge dividends.

As an Eagles fan, most of you have a lot of love for Buffalo’s Sean McDermott. He’s a former Eagles defensive coordinator, but he may not be the man to take Allen to the next level.

Here’s something that everyone needs to understand. If Tom Brady ever gets out of the way and if the Bills give Allen someone who can maximize his potential (and a few weapons), Buffalo will circle the wagons again. The AFC East will belong to them.
