Really cool My Cause, My Cleats tweets from our Philadelphia Eagles
As you’d imagine, the Philadelphia Eagles gave their all to support another worthwhile cause. This time. it was the ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ campaign.
When your favorite team is the Philadelphia Eagles, you may have to endure some bad football from time to time. This season, you’ve even had to endure something that most ‘Birds’ fans are used to seeing from the Dallas Cowboys, drama, but one thing that you’re normally been able to count on, especially now, is you’re going to be pulling for some really good guys.
Philanthropy is the name of the game in Philly. Just look at everything that Carson Wentz has done with his AO1 campaign, everything Malcolm Jenkins has done in his war for social justice, and Eagles CEO and Chairman Jeffery Lurie’s’ Eagles Autism Challenge. We won’t even bring up Chris Long. Listing his good deeds would require a separate story.
Each season, you can literally pick several Eagles and make them front-runners for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, so seeing them participate in the NFL’s ‘My Cause, My Cleats’ campaign should come as no surprise.
As part of an agreement between the NFL and its players, hundreds of the game’s stars took to field rocking cleats sprinkled with tons of cool art as they did their part to represent charitable causes that focus on everything from youth wellness to sex trafficking prevention and support for single parents. As you’d expect, there were some Eagles Autism Foundation cleats in their as well.

Cool, right? If you’ve joined the campaign to get Odell Beckham Jr. to Philly, as many ‘Birds’ fans have, you probably saw what he was rocking too. If you didn’t take a look.

Here’s a statement from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell:
"Our players are passionate supporters of many charitable causes and serve as changemakers in their communities. We are excited to build upon last year’s success and work with our players to expand this unique platform that enables them to raise awareness for causes they support."
For the third-straight year, players had the opportunity to raise money for their cause by auctioning their cleats off at NFL Auction, and One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised go to each player’s charity of choice. This has to make you smile, even if you don’t even watch football.
