4. Kevin O’Connell, the Redskins offensive coordinator

This may be the easiest transition. The Redskins could just promote their current offensive coordinator, but there is a problem with that theory. There seems to be no intelligent reason to promote a coordinator when his side of the ball isn’t even picking up any traction.

Now, say this out loud. Kevin O’Connell is the next head coach of the Washington Redskins. No, it doesn’t have any ring to it either, but it could be a nice way to right some past wrongs.

Any football fan can tell you that Washington’s got a nice track record with coordinators who have been elevated to the position of head coach.

After seeing Matt LaFleur, Sean McVay, and Kyle Shanahan all succeed in their current positions, it might make you think Washington should have gotten rid of Jay Gruden sooner. Maybe this time, their OC stays at home.
