5. player. 54. . . . T.O. returns...

October 8th, 2006: Eagles: 38, Cowboys: 24

Well, you live and you learn. At this point, we’ve all grown and learned that the issues between Terrell Owens and Donovan McNabb were more of a result of the issues ‘5’ had than anything T.O. was dealing with. It was actually McNabb that soured this relationship and thwarted any chances at championship glory, but back in those days, all we cared about was the fact that T.O. left, he threw on a Cowboys jersey, and he was back in Philly for a Week 5 clash with our ‘Birds’.

This one had everything, including that unforgettable drop by T.O. and a Lito Sheppard‘s interception and goal-line to goal-line return that sealed things. The final score in this one, 38-24.

. . The Interception and lateral. 4. player. 54.

November 3rd, 1996: Eagles: 31 Cowboys: 21

This one gets forgotten about a lot, but it shouldn’t. We were all still getting used to those midnight green jerseys, and it was Week 10 of a Ray Rhodes-led season. Philly, losers of seven of their last eight games versus that team from Texas led 24-21 late and was desperately trying to hold on, but in this one, an emotional roller coaster would end with a burst of adrenaline.

Dallas was driving to take the lead, but it was James Willis‘ interception and his lateral to Troy Vincent that would save the day. Vincent went goal line to goal line with a 104-yard return as ‘Birds’ fans who were listening via the radio call would hear Merrill Reese scream ‘The Eagles win. The Eagles win. The Eagles win’. Can you say ‘good times’?
