5. Darren Sproles

First off, the injury frustration surrounding Darren Sproles has taken place over the last three years, and while the veteran has certainly been a big part of this Eagles team at times throughout his career, Philadelphia never should have brought him back for 2019.

The fact that Sproles has only appeared in 12 games dating back to the 2017 season shows how difficult it’s been for the running back to stay healthy, and hopefully he will take the smart approach this offseason by finally retiring.

Earlier this season, Sproles seemed to overcome a partially torn hip flexor muscle before the injury became worse a few weeks later when the tear became full, putting an end to his season once again.

During his prime days as one of the league’s top running backs, Sproles was always considered an all-around threat since he could be used in multiple ways on both offense and special teams.

On a positive note, at least Sproles was able to earn a Super Bowl ring from the 2017 season with the Eagles, even if he only appeared in three games that year as a result of a broken arm and torn ACL that coincidentally happened in the same game during Week 3.
