This NFL expert’s take on Philadelphia Eagles chances will anger you
There’s NFL analysis, and then, there’s the stuff that’s just said to make people angry. Check this out if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan.
To be honest, that was a pretty short week. Maybe it was the fact that a new year trickled in, and most of the world had a day off on Wednesday. Maybe it’s the two NFL games on Saturday. Maybe it’s because, if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, life is easier after wins than it is after losses.
Well, regardless of the reason, the last three days of 2019 and, so far, the first four days of 2020 have been a blur. Two Wild Card games will be played on the 4th of January. Two more will follow on the 5th, and as you might expect with our great nation’s best game, much of the analysis has been about who’s going to beat who and why.
Here’s a theory that will tick you off if you’re an Eagles fan. On a recent episode of First Take, ESPN had the stand-ins working, and Domonique Foxworth believes the ‘Birds’ from Philly have no shot in a game versus the flock from the Pacific-Northwest.
Take a look.

First of all, we should all hope Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman get back from their mini-vacation quickly. Second of all, Domonique Foxworth played NFL ball for seven years, and he’s really a smart guy. He, of all people, should know that there’s no such thing as a team having ‘no shot’, especially in a playoff game.
It’s January. We all get it. Everyone’s analyzed and, in some cases, overanalyzed the four Wild Card games. At some point, it becomes difficult to keep recycling the same stuff. At some point, when you talk for two hours on a television program and keep having to come up with fresh stuff, you’re allowed some stale commentary. Throw this one in the category of conjecture or trying to stir things up.
Philly’s got a real shot of winning this one. The Seattle Seahawks are going to get their best effort, especially from the young guys. They’re, no doubt, tired of hearing Carson Wentz doesn’t have any players around him. For as short a week as this has been, Sunday afternoon just can’t get here fast enough.
