1. Wentz forced to leave with head injury

Just when it seemed like things couldn’t get any worse for the Eagles in the injury department, Carson Wentz was forced to leave Sunday’s loss with a head injury as a result of a cheap shot from Jadeveon Clowney–which should have been an easy penalty call.

Josh McCown certainly deserves a ton of credit for stepping up on offense for Philadelphia when they needed the most after completing 18 of 24 passes for 174 yards, but it was obvious the loss of Wentz impacted the offense in a big way.

The fact that Doug Pederson needed to adjust the play calling with McCown in the game since Wentz is more capable of being mobile when needed shows the kind of challenge the Eagles were dealing with in the loss to the Seahawks.

Over the years, Wentz has received plenty of unfair criticism for his inability to stay healthy, but no one would be criticizing him for what took place on Sunday since as mentioned before, this was clearly a missed penalty that should have easily been called.

At the end of the day, it’s tough not to feel bad for Wentz after everything he overcame just to be in the playoffs for the first time in his career.

Plenty of frustrating factors stand out from Sunday’s loss to Seattle, but losing Wentz when the offense was already at a major disadvantage due to injuries definitely hurts the most.
