1. ’27’ is on the wrong side of 30.

Part of the reason that the Eagles have dealt with so many injuries is this is an aging roster and one of the oldest teams in the NFL. Even if you don’t play football, life has probably taught you that the body doesn’t heal as quickly when you tack on a few more birthdays.

Now, as stated, that may not apply to Jenkins per se, but if the last few seasons haven’t taught us anything else, it’s taught us that a youth movement may desperately be needed in Philly.

They’ll need to rely on the draft more than they rely on free agency to build their roster going forward. Otherwise, they’ll continue to field old teams year after year, and injuries will always be something that they’re forced to deal with.

2020’s selection meeting will be a big deal for these Eagles. They have ten draft picks. They’ll need to hit on every single one of them, especially if they let a lot of this veteran leadership walk.
