Jenkins skipped voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs) this past offseason, which was the first time in his 11 year career that he did so. This caused a mild preseason controversy as it was unclear whether Jenkins would also hold out of training camp or if this was just a veteran player exercising his right under the Collective Bargaining Agreement to skip OTAs.
Ultimately, Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie spoke with Jenkins before training camp and assured him that he was valued by the team, but he also communicated that other players were attempting to negotiate new contracts and Philly wanted to also a prioritize them.
