2. Vinny Curry

After the Eagles won their first Super Bowl title in franchise history two years ago, one of the key losses in free agency came on the defensive side of the football in Vinny Curry.

At the time, it was easy to understand the decision by Curry to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on a three-year deal since Philadelphia’s salary cap situation was a bit tight, but luckily the defensive end was released after only one year with the team.

Luckily, the Eagles were able to convince Curry to return for a second stint on a one-year deal last March, and even though he only started twice during the regular season, the veteran did manage to appear in every game for the team.

While the argument can be made that Philadelphia should move on from Curry since four of his five sacks came during a four-game span towards the end of the regular season, this could also be viewed as Curry finishing on a strong note as well.

Depth to the defensive line will obviously be an important factor for the Eagles when making their decision over the next few months, but with Curry turning 32 in June, there seems to be plenty of gas left in the tank if this past season is any indication.
