1. Nelson Agholor

No matter what happens over the next few months, Nelson Agholor will always feel appreciation from Eagles fans for his role during the 2017 season in helping the team bring home their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.

Without question, that was the best season of Agholor’s career after the former first-round pick benefitted from playing alongside other great playmakers such as Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith by finishing with 62 catches for 768 yards with eight touchdowns.

After his first two NFL seasons turned out to be a complete bust for the most part, Agholor seemed to finally be on the right track with the Eagles in 2017, and this even appeared to be the case in 2018 as well.

But once again this past season, Philadelphia was unfortunately reminded that Agholor is far from reliable in the passing game, and tends to struggle when the offense needs him to step up into a larger role as the No. 1 or No. 2 option in the passing game.

While the Eagles had nothing to lose last spring in exercising the fifth year of Agholor’s contract, the circumstances have now changed, and it seems best for both parties to start fresh for the 2020 season.

As previously mentioned, Agholor will always be appreciated for the role played in helping Philadelphia win the Super Bowl two years ago, but unfortunately some things that were once great must come to an end at some point.
