Matt Burke, currently a defensive special assistant for Philly

The Eagles added Matt Burke to their coaching staff during this past offseason to serve in the role of a special assistant on defense. While you can’t really rule out the idea of Schwartz taking the Browns job and taking Burke with him, you also can’t ignore the possibility of him staying if Philly went with the idea of just promoting someone who’s already on the coaching staff as the recent trend has just been to promote guys from within.

In Burke, the Eagles get a ton of coaching experience, 15 years of experience to be exact.

The Eagles are the fifth stop in an NFL coaching career that runs the gamut from an administrative assistant gig in 2004 to the defensive coordinator position with the Miami Dolphins from 2017 to 2018. He wasn’t retained by the Dolphins when they hired Brian Flores as their head coach in February of 2019.
