John Fox, former NFL head coach

Does anyone remember that nine-game losing streak to the New York Giants that everyone spends so much time talking about? You know the one. Donovan McNabb hits James Trash, oh sorry, that’s actually James Thrash in the back of the end zone on Monday Night Football, and voila! The spell was lifted.

The story is the stuff of legend. The defensive coordinator of the Giants at that time was John Fox. It took a while for the ‘Birds’ to figure Fox and those pesky Giants out in the latter part of Ray Rhodes‘ run and during the early stages of the Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid era, but they finally did. Fox would later take over as the head coach of the Carolina Panthers.

There, he’d ruin another Eagles playoff run before his journey led him to head-coaching stints with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears. In all, Fox racked up a 141-130 win-loss tally (including the playoffs). He’d make a nice addition to Philly’s coaching staff.
