Duce Staley, Eagles Assistant head coach & running backs coach

Who doesn’t love Duce Staley? Jeffrey Lurie loves him. His players love him and will run through a wall for him. He’s survived two additional coaching regimes in Philly after being hired by Andy Reid as a special teams quality control coach in 2011.

Duce is already the assistant head coach, so the offensive coordinator position may seem like a demotion, but after working closely with both Pat Shurmur and Frank Reich, giving him the full autonomy of the offense gives Doug Pederson a guy that he both knows and trusts.

It also puts Duce in a position to strengthen a strong resume that may lead to a head coaching opportunity somewhere in the very near future. That’s if, of course, that falls in line with Duce’s plans that he has for himself.
