Round 5: South Carolina WR Bryan Edwards

Even though wide receiver isn’t as big of a need as cornerback for the Eagles, the offense would still benefit from adding another receiver or two in the draft when looking at all of the frustration this past season.

The fact that Philadelphia participated in the playoffs without their top three receivers shows just how frustrating it was to see the unit deal with all of the injuries at the position since Wentz was basically working with members of the practice squad against Seattle.

What made things even more frustrating for the Eagles is how younger receivers such as Arcega-Whiteside failed to step up when the opportunity was there, meaning Philadelphia would be better off adding depth to the position to make things more competitive in 2020.

Ever since Bryan Edwards was a freshman, the wideout was able to find ways to make an impact on offense for South Carolina, and finished his college career with 234 catches for 3,045 yards to go along with 22 touchdowns.

Similar to the discussion with Davis, Edwards has the kind of explosive play in which he could benefit as a rookie playing alongside other talented receivers already part of the picture for the Eagles such as Jeffery and Jackson.
