Round 5: LSU DT Rashard Lawrence

Over the years, LSU has seen plenty of great defenders go on to have successful NFL careers, and if Rashard Lawrence plays his cards right, the defensive tackle could soon be part of that list.

Watching LSU emerge as one of the top teams in college football over the last couple of months has been incredible to watch, and even though Lawrence most likely won’t be selected as high as some of his teammates, there is still plenty of potential to be excited about.

In fact, when looking at Lawrence’s four seasons with the Tigers, it’s safe to say the young defender has found ways to get better with experience each year.

And if this is a sign of what Lawrence’s career in the NFL would be like, why wouldn’t the Eagles at least consider the possibility?

Of course, just like most players declaring for the draft, there’s always the possibility of Lawrence impressing enough over the next few months to watch his stock go up to make it seem unlikely he will be available in the fifth round.

But since Lawrence is projected to be selected on the final day of the draft for now, it only seems fair to have him going in the fifth round to Philadelphia.
