In 2019, the Oklahoma Sooners were treated to another stellar season by one of their best players on defense, Neville Gallimore. Over the course of his 46-game career, he racked up 147 total tackles. 67 of those were of the solo variety, and 17 resulted in a loss of yardage. Add that to 8.5 sacks and five forced fumbles.

That includes the 30 tackles, four sacks, and two forced fumbles he’s responsible for during the 2019 season. He’s a potential second-day pick who stands at six-foot-two and tips the scales at 301 pounds.

We don’t mention NC State Wolfpack football that often. Occasionally, a quarterback like Philip Rivers or Russell Wilson will come through the program, but for the most part, we’re told that State is part of a three-way rivalry between them, the Duke Blue Devils, and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

To be honest, the only people that totally believe that are people in Raleigh and the alumni of NC State. Duke and North Carolina mostly worry about one another, and NC State isn’t as thought about as often by those other two as they’d like to be.

The makings of a decent football program are in place though. All they need is an elite coach and a few more prospects yearly like Larrell Murchison. He’s a six-foot-three and 291-pound defensive tackle that could be a guy that’s drafted late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens.
