Who knows how the Georgia Bulldogs keep finding these great running backs, but year after year, they just keep churning them out. If the 2020 NFL Draft class was to name a valedictorian, that honor would, no doubt, go to D’Andre Swift.

He’s a nice combination of size and speed, and no one should be surprised if he runs the 40-yard dash, and he’s clocked at under 4.5 seconds, whether that be at the NFL Combine or at Georgia’s Pro Day.

He figures to come off of draft boards in Round 1, and whoever pulls the trigger is getting a five-foot-nine, 215-pound bell-cow who can either hammer the ball between the tackles or beat speedy defenses to the edge. In 2019, he averaged 6.2 yards per rush. He’s a three-down starter at the next level.

The term ‘man among boys’ may be a tad overused, but in the case of Wisconsin Badgers standout Jonathan Taylor, it actually applies. He ran over guys when he needed to do that. He ran around guys when he needed to do that, and when he got past guys, no one caught up with him.

His stiff arm is the stuff of legend, and that helped him rack up a 6.3 yards-per-carry average. If you’re a stat guy or a stat gal, you’re going to love the numbers too. In 2019, he racked up 2,003 yards and scored 21 rushing touchdowns while catching another 26 passes and reaching the end zone five times as a receiver.

If there’s one concern, it’s this. He may have been used too much. In 41 career games, he carried the ball 926 times. That’s an insane number at any level.
