Oh, we could talk about this young man all day!

Carmichael was given the honor of being named director of player and community relations for the Eagles in 1988, where he served as a “mentor, confidant, troubleshooter, and liaison between the players and the authority figures in the organization”. He became a Fan Engagement Liaison in 2014. He’s currently an ambassador for the team.

In 1989, he was added to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame. In 2004, he found his way into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame. In 2012, he was inducted into the Southwest Athletic Conference Hall of Fame. In 2018, he was inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame. It’s been quite the ride, and it’s only beginning. Perhaps Eagles chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie gives us one of the best perspectives.

"Harold has served as a role model, mentor, and friend to so many during his four-plus decades in Philadelphia as a player, executive, and ambassador. He is a one-of-a-kind person who loves this organization, who loves this city and its fans, and who treats everyone with dignity and respect. We are excited to celebrate this honor with Harold and his family."

What else needs to be said after that? Congrats Mr. Carmichael! This is an honor that’s well deserved and long overdue.
