Speaking of failing in the ‘infusion of youth’ plan, how about a Mario Addison discussion? Is he one of the ten best defensive ends in terms of potential free agents? Yes, he is. Can it be argued that he’s in danger of regressing? Unfortunately, that’s also a true statement.

Let’s start with the positives and the numbers. You can’t complain about his work ethic. After going undrafted in 2011 and being on four rosters in two seasons, the fourth time would prove to be the charm.

Addison has been a member of the Carolina Panthers since 2012, and he’s registered 207 tackles in a Panthers’ jersey. 127 of those tackles were of the solo variety, and 49 tackles resulted in a loss of yardage.

Mario Addison is relentless and hasn’t logged fewer than nine sacks over the course of the past four seasons, but he’ll turn 33 years old in September. That’s going to scare quite a few teams off.
