Philadelphia Eagles: A three-step offseason plan to get back on track
More on Ruggs
Ruggs III was the deep threat that made Alabama’s offense dynamic before Tua Tagovailoa’s injury. In his junior season, Ruggs III posted 746 yards, seven touchdowns and 18.7 yards per reception on 40 receptions. Even though the numbers aren’t eye-popping, they all came in light of him lining up opposite star receiver and potential top-ten pick in Jeudy.
Ruggs III’s tape shows that he can stretch the field for the Eagles. He’d get the chance to learn behind DeSean Jackson in 2020, while also showing that he can move around the formation and fill in when Jackson inevitably misses time next year.
Reagor is similar to Ruggs III. He just isn’t as refined. In 12 games, the junior speedster recorded 611 yards, five touchdowns and 14.2 yards per reception on 43 grabs. Reagor is a high-flying receiver who’s at his best when tracking balls down the field. The Eagles would likely be able to trade down a few spots, gain some more picks, and still land him. Both Ruggs III and Reagor would give the Eagles that element of speed their offense has desperately lacked for the last two seasons.
