player. 54. . . . Week 14, 2013: Eagles 34, Lions 20. 15

Perhaps, if this game wasn’t in the snow, it wouldn’t rank so highly, but come on. There’s just something about watching football in the elements. Sure, U.S. Bank Stadium and both of those domes that carry the Mercedes Benz name (one in Atlanta and one in New Orleans) are three of the most iconic venues in all of the professional sports.

Football should be played outdoors though.

Just think about it. The Minnesota Vikings used to play outside, and that was a huge advantage for them. They made it to a couple of Super Bowls. In those days, they enjoyed one of the best home-field advantages in NFL history. Then, they moved indoors, and they’ve been cursed ever since.

On December 8th of 2013, the Philadelphia Eagles welcomed one of those teams that play indoors to Lincoln Financial Field. Needless to say, they weren’t ready for ‘Mother Nature’. Philly handled the Detroit Lions en route to a 14-point victory behind a single-game rushing record, 217-yard performance by LeSean McCoy. It was a sight to behold (literally).
