2020 NFL Mock Draft 1.0: Eagles focus on safety with Grant Delpit
By Dan Parzych
Last August, the Indianapolis Colts received an unexpected surprise in preseason when Andrew Luck decided to retire out of nowhere, leaving the offense to make the quick adjustment to Jacoby Brissett as the new starter.
During the first two months of action, the Colts appeared to be at least a lock for a Wild Card spot thanks to a 5-2 start before it all went downhill in November and December.
The fact that Indianapolis finished the 2019 season with just seven wins shows how rough the final two months of action turned out to be, but also the blame shouldn’t fall entirely on Brissett’s shoulders since injuries unfortunately piled up.
In order to see the best results from Brissett, the Colts will need to focus on building a better offensive line over the next few months, whether it comes through free agency or the draft in April.
Assuming Indianapolis considers the possibility of using their first rounder to improve the offensive line, Andrew Thomas is one name worth keeping an eye on since the Georgia star has the kind of leverage the Colts should be looking for.
Protecting Brissett will continue to be a top priority for Indianapolis moving forward since the Colts are loaded with too much talent to let another year go to complete waste, and if Thomas happens to still be available, this seems like an easy selection.
